Your Family Doula Services, LLC was founded by Christine Becerra, a full spectrum doula based out of Caldwell, New Jersey. We service New Jersey in person and offer virtual support as well. Christine's mission is to help build people’s confidence in pregnancy, birth and postpartum by supporting and uplifting them with up-to-date knowledge and unbiased care. As such, we support the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC families, single parents, adoptive parents, surrogate mothers and teen parents.

Welcome!

Meet the doula

Hi, I’m Christine! Throughout my six pregnancies and three births, I learned how vital it is to have a strong support system through each step and event. Every family looks different but something we all have in common is the need for unwavering guidance during some of life’s most vulnerable times. My intention is for you to feel confident and ready for all that is to come! To help you do so, I will offer up-to-date knowledge and full support of your wishes. I wholeheartedly believe that you should be able to make your experience your own and trust your body. You might be worried about all the changes to come or feel unprepared, but I want to help give you all the tools you need to feel ready. My goal is to help you reach YOUR goals, whatever they may be. I believe in being my clients ally through every path and take great pride in being Your Family Doula.

When I’m not helping your family, you can find me at local coffee shops, reading a book, caring for my plants or juggling my three kids’ various schedules! I enjoy baking, cooking and hosting all kinds of events. I like to keep busy and have about one hundred hobbies (we might have some in common!). I love learning and am always looking to forward to continuing my education. We are also a very “pro-pet” family with various furry and scaley members!

Our Services

  • Continuous emotional and physical support to help empower you to navigate your birthing journey with confidence and comfort.

  • Helping smooth your transition into parenthood. Babies don’t come with instruction manuals but a doula can support you during the postpartum period. Offering invaluable guidance, nurturing, and emotional care to new parents.

  • Capsules, tinctures and keepsakes, oh my! If you plan on consuming your placenta or simply want keepsakes like Placenta Prints or Cord Art, we’ve got you covered!

  • When the unthinkable happens, you’re not alone. We’re here to hold your hand through the thick of it: explain what’s happening, your choices, or just listen.

  • One of the most “natural things” doesn’t always come naturally, and that’s okay! We’re here to help guide you on your lactation journey.

  • Like to be well informed? This is for you! Private and group classes designed to help you feel prepared for the road ahead.

  • Included in birth packages or booked as a stand alone service. We guide you through options, talk about your preferences and send you a printable document for you to share with your birth team.

  • Helping you prepare for life with a new baby (or babies!) can make all the difference! Getting plans in place and making sure you and your partner are on the same page will set you up for success.

  • Love us but aren’t in our service area? With virtual support, you don’t have to go without! Book a consultation to find out how we can be part of your birth team.

  • TENS units are a great tool to have if you plan on going pain med-free or want to put it off as long as possible. TENS units are available for clients and can be rented to non-clients.

  • Having a doula on call for your older children when you go into labor can help reduce stress!

But does a doula really make a difference?

“Studies have shown that having a doula as a member of the birth team decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40%, and requests for an epidural by 60%.”

— Hodnett ED. Gates S Hofmeyr GJ. Sakala C.

“With [doula] support, women were less likely to have pain-relief medications administered and less likely to have a cesarean birth. Women also reported having a more positive childbirth experience.”

— Childbirth Connection

“Doulas provide critical advocacy and support, especially for those at risk of bias and discrimination—including people of color and LGBTQ people.”

— Nora Ellmann for Center for American Progress
